We haven't got single complaint! ------------------------------- The first impression of Mi-Horn sound may be different from what you've been pursuit. Give it a little time, and you will find Mi-Horn sounds truer, smoother, clearer, free of coloration, and more musical. Also, Mi-Horn lets you adjust the quantity of sound in Fine Tuning for your taste. ------------------------------- Alex Let me begin by telling you a little about my speakers. I have a pair of Phase Techs Teatro 11.5 ($950.00) for about 3 years now and I have enjoyed them every day. But after listening to many other brands of speakers, I realized how dark my system sounded. I had found a pair that I was going to up grade to which was around $5,000 a pair and not having 5k in hand, I thought that it would be another year before I could afford them. Then I read the ad for the free Mi-Horns that promised a $10k upgrade, so I had to try them. Installation could not have been any easier. Because there was no altering of my speakers, I did not have to be concerned about any voided warranties with my Phase Techs. The first CD that I put in was the Burmester sample CD III, and the first time I had listened to this CD, it gave me goose bumps. After listening to this CD again with the Mi-horns I could not believe the difference of sound quality that came from my speakers. I felt as though I could picture where each of the musicians were seated on track six Gioacchino Rossini Sonata I G-Dur. So basically, these Mi-horns have improved the quality of my red books and brought them to close to the sound quality of my SACD’s/DVDA’s which are now phenomenal. Now thanks to the Mi-horns, you all have saved me $5k and did I mention that my speakers look awesome.... Thank you, Irving (1) ----------------------------- June 24, 2003 Alex, I received the small Mi-Horns, and you were right. They are like a $3k upgrade. Now I want more for all my front speakers. Your website is confusing and I was wondering what the cost would be to install them on my PSB 9C(center)on the woofers and the PSB 4T's(front left and right)woofers and tweeters. I installed the ones you sent on my front left and right not on the center like you suggested. Mi-Horns are so simple but also so complex in the sound they help to re-create. I absolutely Love them. Thank you, Mark Downing ------------------------------- Alex, I tried the Mi-Horns on two sets of monitors: my NEAR 10Ms and my vintage (and stock) Dynaco A-25s. Though my listening has not yet been extensive on either, the Mi-horns clearly increase the perceived loudness for both sets of speakers. Since I power the monitors with flea powered, SE Triode amps (2 Decware Zen 84B, in dual mono set up) through a passive "preamp" (yes, I know this is an oxymoron), built for me by Ric Schultz of Electronic Visionary Systems , preceived gain is a welcomed benefit. There seems also to be a sharper focus in the sound at low to moderate volume levels. That is really all I can get from the Zens. To my ears there is nothing negative in the addition of the Mi-horns. Regarding both sets of speakers, I conclude that the Mi-horns provide a welcome improvement in my stereo system. So far I have listened to "Mi-Horned" speakers only in a 2 channel system, but I plan to try the Mi-Horns in my Home Theater (5.1) set up, as well. This will allow me to judge the improvements in sound at higher volume levels, since my HT receiver (Onkyo TX SR600) is much more powerful than the Zens. Also, the HT experience is different than the stereo experience. Incidently, in my HT system I rotate front L&R speakers in and out - right now I am using some old ADVENT Baby IIIs. I will MI-Horn them and also listen with the NEARs and the DYNAs. I will supplement this review with a follow up after I live with the HT system with Mi-Horns for a while. Tweaks are often subtle at best, but the difference in sound from the Mi-horns is more than subtle and at a much lesser price than a component or speaker upgrade. For folks who like the sound of their speakers, but want or need more of it, I would recommend Mi-Horns. I am an audiophile wannabe. I tell folks that I have champagne tastes on a rootbeer budget. Tweaks and products that provide real perceived improvments without high costs are what I look for in audio equipment. Mi-Horns are one of those types products. While they do not represent "wire with gain", for me they clearly make positive difference. Thank you for developing this product. Blessings,
Leonard Hendrix Tullahoma, Tennessee -------------------------------------- I just wanted to drop you a note to relate my experience with my new Mi-Horns. After a rather simple installation I put in a Sonny Rollin's Disc to try them out. It was a jaw dropping occasion. Oh that horn with these horns! Needless to say I am very pleased with my purchase. In my system I used one 1in on the tweeter and two 4inchers on the mids. Mi Horn is really a breakthrough product. Regards, Corona, CA. Bill

----------------------------------- I have completed the installation of my beautiful new Mi-Horns on both my front towers as well as the rear surround towers. There was a total of ten coned speakers and four tweeters to install. It took me the better part of three hours to do it all, however, as you know I am a bit of an expert by now as this is my second set of speakers I am installing Mi-Horns on. Once again the highs are airier, the mids more dynamic and the bass more tunefull. I have had people ask me why I would attach plastic thingies to my very expensive loudspeakers? The answer is simple, "They Sound Better"! Regards/ Bill
----------------------------------- I'm glad I took the time to try the Mi-Horns. I thought that my Axion 3ti speakers did a great job in soundstage and imaging, but with the Mi-Horns, it opened up a whole new listening experience for me. One of the most startling effects was the clarity of the sound, I heard nuances I never noticed before. I've tried all kinds of tweaks for my system but the Mi-Horns are by far the best. Thanks for a great product! Marietta, GA John Petrella Network Administrator Cobb Galleria Centre ----------------------------------- Well Alex, here is my rookie review. First I want to thank you for allowing me to demo these free horns. I really enjoyed them. System: Jolida 202A /Svetlana EL34 outputs, Phillips AT7 Sovtek ATX LPS inputs. Music Hall MMF CD-25 Cd Player. DiMarzio M-Path Interconnects Onix Sp200 speaker cable Soliloquy SM2A3 speakers modded with 5.0 crossovers. My system is modest compared to alot I have seen but has failed to disappoint. It is the warm sound that I had sought after listening to my Grado SR80 headphones. I tend to listen to my system with my back turned to it as I'm usually pecking away at the keyboard. Dedicated listening is a rare occasion in my household. Can't seem to find the time.Every now and then, while surfing, my ears perk up, goosebumps rise on my arm, and I'll turn my head in disbelief at a note, guitar lick, drum kick... something in the music I have never heard before. That was my system before the Mi-Horns.When I received them, I was quite surprised at the quality of materials and how pleasent they are to the eyes. All it amounts to, is a horn shaped piece that fits into a base, semi-permantly attached around the driver of choice. In my case, it was a soft dome tweeter. Simple but very effective. Well how did they sound , you say? Instead of being in the background so to say, the music DEMANDED attention. It actually distracted me from the "work" at hand. OK, fine! I'll turn around and pay attention to my lovely HI-FI. I decided that Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland" was gonna be the first album used to to audition my horn add-ons. The first and most pronounced sensation was a more precise distinction and placement of the higher octave instruments: Guitars, cymbals, even the cheers of the crowd were sharper. I guess you can say it cleaned things up a bit. Kinda "in your face". Not unpleasent, just sharp, clean, and distinct. I listened to more music including Acoustic Alchemy, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Vangelis. All with the same effect. My music tends to be laid back so I would imagine more lively music would have a further degree of positive change. To sum it all up, I would say these add-ons gave my warm sounding system, which I love, a little edge. It gave it precision, coherence, and a tonal quality that different drivers, or perhaps a tube change would give. Without the expense. If any system is a bit muddy, overly warm, or congested, this just might do the trick. As a matter of fact, I'm sure it will. Thanks for the horns, Jimmy PS: Please feel free to correct punctuation or spelling. --------------------------------- David recording studio Alhambra, California
Mi-Horn made my job easier. All recording studios must have these! David.
------------------------------- It is amazing sound coming out from my mission 773 right after I put on the Mi-Horns to the 1" tweeters. The sound is more focus and clear to where I want it instead of spreading out everywhere in the room. Thank you very much for free 1" Mi-Horns, Gaithersburg, MD/Vu Mai. -------------------------------- Alex, I just wanted to say thank you for the free tweeter mi-horns. They work flawlessly! I am sure you are getting flooded with responses right now but I just wanted to tell you how they worked in my system. 1. Musical images are more coherent/tight and transients are more clearly defined. 2. Congestion/smearing, which I never knew existed in my system has been wiped clean. This cleansing has mostly helped the upper regions but really improves the whole musical spectrum. I noticed it especially on acoustic guitar plucks/strums/etc. The pluck is now very distinct and natural whereas before it was just simply a discernable guitar pluck. If I were better with words I might have been able to convey here the importance of this but it sure is hard to describe these things in words! 3. Your horns make it very easy to compare the before and after effects. The Velcro was easy to apply/center over the tweeter and the horns are removed/replaced quickly for comparison. 4. They are quite handsome and well constructed. There was only one drawback in my system and that is one of my CD’s ended up sounding unusually bright. I have to attribute this to the recording and my very inexpensive/cheap cd player (a sony DVP-NS315 DVD player which you can pick up anywhere for $90). I will most certainly be keeping the mi-horns hooked up to my speakers! If you like, you may use my feedback publicly. Regards, Ryan Tew Provo, UT PS My system is as follows: Source: Sony DVP-NS315 dvd player used as CD source. Heavily damped and isolated. >> Project Wood Classic table with Grado Red cartridge and custom built home phono preamp Interconnects and cables: DH labs BL-1’s and Kimber PBJ >> Kimber Monocle XL speaker wire >>custom built 10AWG shielded power cord. Integrated amp: Unison Research UNICO with upgraded NOS RCA clear tops Speakers: Reference 3A mm de capos on 21 Osiris speaker stands filled with lead shot and rice ------------------------------------ Hello Alex, Mi-horn made my speakers increased focus, performers appear with more presence, and ultimately more detail. I tried several times to listen without them, but difference is amazing and so obvious that I, from now on, would feel deprived, if i do not place horn's on. The only thing is that I have to be inventive with the instaling them every time I am listening, as my tweeters are surrounded with felt. But still, I am willing to work around that for the beneffits gained. Thanks for the opportunity to use your product! Regards! D. Veselinovic --------------------------------- I am using the 1-incher on my center channel only and immediately I thought I was dreaming. The sound of my entire system was super enhanced when used in the video mode. I really could not believe the difference a small attachment could make. I can't wait to try it (the 1-inchers on my front speakers. Maybe even try larger Mi-horns. A work in progress. Thanks. Rodney Smith ---------------------------------

--------------------------------- Dear Mihorn,
-------------------------------
Alex, Thanks for the great deal on the Mi horn's. I have
been using the horns on my center chanel & Im impressed with the
preformance. I have been able to watch movies at a lower vol level without
sacrificing any dialoug! My main concern was the center
& so far Im pleased with the preformance! I had friends laugh at me saying
that dosnt work on & on, but its my system & I know it well & there
is a definite improvment! I have told them you keep complaining about your
center being weak even when running it hot by 2db, why not try the Mi-horns if it
dont work for you just take it off! One of my friends will borrow my horns this
weekend just to try! I know he will like them. Thanks,
